Top priority (for which we are currently accepting applications) is given to World War II and terminally ill veterans from all wars.

Ray Dolman, one of Post 10209's Trustees and WWII Veteran recently participated in an Honor Flight from Tampa to Washington DC. Ray spent a full day (sun up to sundown) starting with a formal sendoff at Tampa International and a Welcome Home Ceremony after returning home. The day was filled with an escorted visit to each of the Memorials in DC and a "Mail Call" on the return flight. Ray wanted to share some of the many special memories he captured on his trip and encourages all WWII Vets to Sign Up for the Next Honor Flight.

Re: Thank you
Hello mrs Linda
We received your packages today and let me tell you the silly string was a
pick hit. I have never seen grown adults have so much fun with a can a
string. Even our first sergeant got in on the fun. There was so much
string in our offices, in people's hair, everywhere that we could build
the worlds biggest ball of string. ( exaggeration of course). The whole
company got in on it. There was ambushes and people chasing each other,
and the best part of this was that this month everyone was starting to get
glum and depressed and missing their family's, that they were happy again.
A lot of us enjoy the candy and other stuff also, but the string was the
hit of the day. Again thank you and your group for making this company's
day of the deployment a memorable one. I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for the nice e-mail.......always nice to hear back from someone
and glad your guys enjoyed their boxes as well. Hopefully, it was
something good for everyone! I really do enjoy packing the little goodie
boxes and hope we can put a smile on you faces with our quirky little
Your name sounds familiar....I think we sent you boxes during your last
deployment as well??? I have to look back on my old lists. What were
the dates you were deployed before?
I do have a facebook account under Linda Kidwell. Just hope I remember
how to friend someone...kind of computer illiterate! lol.
Can you guys use toys for the kids where you are located? We also have
lots of cans of silly string & squirt guns, but have not received any
requests for a long time. We also have lightweight blankets for those in
the mountain area's.
We are not a large organization but we can take requests if there is
anything you might need.
I know it is hard being away from your family! How old are your kids?
My kid will be 45 this November!
Thanks again for the e-mail.....love hearing from you guys!

Subject: Thank you
My troops and I received your packages and really appreciate what you are
doing for us. I know that it's not a cheap thing to do, and that it's
very time consuming. Let me tell you that you brightened my guys day
with those packages. They are very appreciative of it. Especially the
guys that this deployment is their first. I didn't think they understood
what a package or mail in general would do for them while they were here.
Now I am native from Bay St. Louis, MS and I know you know granny who was
my angel last deployment. I'm still waiting to hear from my angel right
now, but mail is slow. I have a wife named ----- and 2 kids named ------
and ---. I am a die hard Saints fan and I will never leave the dark
side, lol. My Facebook name is -------------- so hit me up and ill
accept you as a friend, if you have a Facebook account. Again from my
troops and I thank you very much for what you do.
